Vitra's new polishing line started production
A complete polishing and squaring line with continuous motion scoring/engraving and splitting unit began production last February at Vitra Karo Eczacibasi.
The line was supplied by Ancora Group, with which the Turkish group has been collaborating continuously for long time; it will be used for the production of porcelain stoneware in sizes up to 600 x 1200 mm, and listellos or "planks" measuring up to 150 x 1200 mm.
One particular feature of the scoring/engraving and splitting unit is the precision of its cut, even when used on materials that are difficult to split, providing great advantages in terms of management economy, flexibility and simplicity. Indeed, Ancora has developed a tool with a high-speed motorised disc that creates a deep groove in the material, ensuring that the tile is cut cleanly.
