DIGIT-S presents KEYcam

KEYcam is the first automatic system for matching tiles, capable of digitalising a ceramic surface produced in certain conditions and reproduce it with different ones, such as different glaze, different inks or even different machines.

Digit-S, a leading Spanish company specialising in software and hardware solutions for the ceramic industry 4.0, has developed KEYcam, the first automatic system for matching tiles, capable of digitalising a ceramic surface produced in certain conditions and reproduce it with different ones, such as different glaze, different inks or even different machines.

The software used by KEYcam is unique and was developed specifically by Digit-S for the ceramic sector.

KEYcam combines the ability to capture detailed colorimetric information with simplicity of image acquisition, accuracy, flexibility and speed. These performance characteristics bring results that far exceed what can be achieved with conventional scanners.

KEYcam and its software use a camera with a special lens that meets the strictest standards of optical and colorimetric precision and a flash lighting system designed to capture and record the design colour of the tile correctly, even in the event of low light or non-standard lighting conditions. This significantly improves the efficiency of the camera, as it avoids any possible distortion of the colour of the original piece and allows sharpness, focus and contrast to be maintained without sacrificing quality or resolution, especially in the case of large sizes.

KEYcam was also developed in response to the ceramic industry’s current need to be able to produce new products from natural materials, or exactly the same tile using different production processes or plants, as in the case of factories owned by multinational groups in other countries or the factories of third-party suppliers.

KEYcam is part of Digit-S’s extensive Ceramica 4.0 project created by the Spanish company to support the ceramic sector in its transition towards Industry 4.0.
