The new machine is capable of producing both a standard size and sub-multiples on the same mould (e.g. 2 exits 60x60 cm; 4 exits 30x60 cm; 8 exits 30x30 cm).
The die-box is designed to hold extractable plate-holding grids (the patented Drawer Liners, patent no. MO2003A000237), which are set up for one size but can be replaced together with the punches directly on the mould to produce the sub-multiple size.
This system is suitable both for re-entering moulds and for transfer moulds. The systems also allows for a considerable time saving when changing the tile size on the press.
Multiformato offers a number of advantages, including:
- elimination of cutting costs (the multiples are formed directly in the mould);
- maximum operating flexibility (e.g. it is possible to produce by colour rather than by size);
- uniformity of pressed products;
- reduction in number of moulds.
The system will be displayed at Tecnargilla in Rimini from 1 to 5 October 2004.
