The Spanish construction sector ended 2021 in an excellent state of health with 51,400 construction projects and total investments of €58 million, an increase of 78% on 2020 and 38% on 2019.

Railways accounted for the highest percentage of total investments, followed by residential construction and renovation which continue to show a positive trend after the pandemic and are consolidating their position as the sector’s main driver.

Despite raw material supply issues, rising energy prices and labour shortages, the industry expects to see further growth in 2022/2023.
