30 years of SIR

A year of important anniversaries for SIR, the leading company in industrial robotised solutions with headquarters in Modena: in 2014 it celebrates both 30 years in business and also the 70th birthday of its founder, engineer Luciano Passoni, who has guided the company from its first steps through to international success with great passion and determination.

Founded in 1984, thanks to its long experience, SIR is a company able to offer solutions that meet the most complex automation requirements in any segment of the manufacturing industry: automotive, aeronautics, plastic, pharmaceuticals, metalworking, electro-mechanics, steel works, food & beverage, ceramics and sanitaryware. There are over 3,000 systems in operation worldwide and in the most prestigious companies.

SIR's strong points lie in the continuous pursuit of innovation, thanks to the company's incessant search for new products, the improvement and standardisation of consolidated solutions, the modernisation of the structure and the procedures regarding product design, and development and customer care.

Thanks to a consolidated group synergy set up in 1991, the SITI B&T Group divisions in the applied logistics (B&T Automation) and sanitaryware fields (B&T White) collaborate with SIR, proposing new state-of-the-art solutions, such as high-pressure casting presses and smart palletisation technologies.

SIR has over 20 industrial patents and an in-house Research and Development laboratory, in which it invests more than the 5% of its turnover. The strategic partnership established around ten years ago with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia has led to the creation of a Corporate University Laboratory within SIR, one of a kind in Italy and proof of the company's constant commitment to the pursuit of innovative solutions.

As further confirmation of the company's ultra-dynamic attitude and continuous desire to improve and grow, the number of corporate initiatives organised continues to multiply: amongst these, the forthcoming opening of the German branch, SIR Gmbh, the expansion of the foreign sales network and, in a few days from now, the launch of the new website: www.sir-mo.com.
