4Phases wins District Green Economy award

Following the Packaging Oscar received last April, the revolutionary 4PHASES packaging system developed by System has also won the District Green Economy award, Green Technology category. During the district festival devoted to the green economy (Fiorano Modenese, province of Modena, 6-9 October 2011), the award was collected by System’s Chairman Franco Stefani who was encouraged to carry on the company’s outstanding work of “invention and design” with a view to continuous improvement and environmental sustainability of processes and products.

4PHASES delivers considerable cardboard savings and eliminates wastage while assuring a high degree of protection of the products contained in the packs. It uses at least 80% less cardboard for each package of flat products. If just 10% of the annual world ceramic tile production of 8.5 million square metres was packaged using this system, it would bring savings of 100 million square metres of cardboard per year.
