Acimac unveils Promotional Activities 2003
The calendar includes 7 trade shows, 5 training courses and technological symposia for tile industry technicians (see calendar and in-depth section), plus 2 market surveys on the ceramic industry in Egypt and China. The survey on China is an update of the previous survey conducted in 1999, which has become necessary due to the extremely rapid development of the Chinese ceramic industry in recent years.
The Italian ceramic machinery industry's presence at world trade shows begins in March with the Indian exhibition on Ceramics & Ceramic Technology, where a Punto Italia will be organised in cooperation with the Italian Trade Commission ICE.
Three events are scheduled almost concurrently in April. These are: Batimat China in Shanghai, where Acimac will have a representation stand; Batimat Mosbuild in Moscow where there will be a second Punto Italia in cooperation with ICE; and Revestir in Sao Paulo, a new trade show promoted amongst others by the Brazilian ceramic tile manufacturers' association and at which Acimac and ICE will be organising a pavilion of Italian technology, plant and machinery suppliers.
Another two Italian pavilions will be organised at Ceramics China in Guangzhou (formerly Canton) in May and at Ceramitec in Munich in September. As always, Acimac will be present at Cersaie in Bologna in October with a representation stand.
Acimac has planned 5 training courses and technological symposia for ceramic tile industry technicians during 2003. Increasingly popular and in demand abroad, these courses for ceramic industry technicians (3-4 days of lessons with expert tutors) offer Italian companies an important opportunity to make direct contact with foreign customers. In 2003 the countries hosting Acimac-ICE courses are Brazil, Vietnam, Iran, Russia and Mexico. Since this is the first time that such courses have been held in Russia and Vietnam (which are only now emerging as ceramic producer countries), the courses are designed to cover the basics of the entire ceramic production process.
Brazil, Iran and Mexico have instead already hosted Acimac training courses in the past, so advanced courses will be organised to provide in-depth analysis of specific production issues. All training courses end with a day devoted to the technological symposium during which Italian technology suppliers can present their recent innovations.
