Agreement between Cer-Energia and Enel Gas for 2003-2004

10/12/03 - An agreement has been reached between Enel Gas, the Enel Group company responsible for the sale of natural gas, and Cer-Energia, a consortium of more than 40 ceramic producer companies, for the supply of gas to consortium members in 2003-2004.

The agreement marks the continuation of a relationship that began in February 2001 with the signing of one of the very first consortium contracts in the free gas market. The new agreement covers more than 50 factories in the ceramic cluster, with volumes of more than 200 million cubic metres of gas annually (total value of more than 40 million euro).

According to Giuseppe Pozzi, Chairman of Cer-Energia, "The Consortium is continuing its mission to provide member companies with a negotiating tool in energy markets, allowing them to benefit from economic conditions that would be impossible as individual customers."

Although the Consortium acts as a single reference point for commercial negotiations, member companies can also maintain a direct relationship with the supplier. For this purpose, an Enel Gas account manager is appointed to solve problems of any kind relating to the gas supply.

With 1.8 million customers and annual sales of 4 billion cubic metres of gas, Enel Gas not only supplies gas to Italian companies and leading consortia, but also offers a technical and commercial consulting service. This involves help with choosing the best pricing formula for customers' consumption profiles and safeguarding against risks deriving from variations in raw materials costs."
