Agreement with Sunlot-Huahui, System Lamina also in China

The Chinese company Sunlot-Huahui will produce ceramic slabs for tops and ventilated façades with a new Lamina System line whose start-up is planned for June 2015. For the Chinese ceramic manufacturer the agreement with System will lead to a real technological upgrade that will mark the history of the plant located near Xiamen.

The complete System equipment at Sunlot-Huahui is dedicated to the production of ceramic slabs of a maximum size of 1200 x 3600 mm with extremely low thickness ranging from 3 to 5 mm. Given the final use for kitchen tops and bathroom furnishings or installation in ventilated façades, the storage of slabs will be on simple platforms at the kiln exit, without cutting into sub-formats.

The equipment integrates the mat gluing line and the free-size laser cutting line.

With this recent order from Sunlot-Huahui, sixteen Lamina System lines equipped with the GEA press without mould are now installed (or will be soon started up) in eleven big ceramic groups around the world. These include Laminam, Panaria and GranitiFiandre in Italy, Levantina and The Size in Spain, Bars Keramicheskiy in Russia, Kaleseramik and Kütahya in Turkey. In the Far East System signed the most recent orders in spring 2014 with SCG Group (Thailand) and Platinum (Indonesia).

The Lamina technology is mainly appreciated for the quality upgrade of the ceramic product, as well as for the 50% energy savings at the production site, compared to conventional moulding machines.

Franco Stefani, president of the System Group explains: "We are fully satisfied with the progress of System Lamina and the receptivity of companies to receiving benefits in terms of saving energy, materials, labor that can be acquired with the GEA press. After a lot of skepticism, today - 14 years after the launch of the technology - we see the first investments and production start-ups in Europe, Turkey and the Far East. We also have other orders, which would be premature to disclose. The industrialists who choose this line inevitably move toward a higher market segment and leave the competition. An important but niche technological leap, which currently is not comparable with that of other companies".
