14/03/07 - The winners of the Alfa de Oro awards, presented to companies that stood out for their product innovation and research, were as usual announced at Cevisama by the Spanish Ceramics and Glass Society (SECV) .
This year the jury, chaired by Fernando Latre, director of the advanced school of ceramics in Alcora, assigned the award to Ceracasa, Ceramica Mayor and Fritta.

Ceracasa won its first Alfa de Oro for its "Emotile by Ceracasa" system. The system "enables floor and wall tiles to be personalised by means of digital decoration using inkjet technology and specially adapted glazes". The efforts towards usability were much appreciated by the jury.

Cerámica Mayor received its first award for developing and manufacturing elliptical section glazed tiles shaped by extrusion.

Fritta won its fifth Alfa de Oro for its use of instrument analysis techniques in developing digitally decorated products designed to revive Spain's architectural ceramics heritage.

The jury's award to Tres Estilos was for their development of a new mechanical fixing device for interior wall tiles that has no visible parts. Gres Rústico de Ebro's outstanding product was its Seda series, which uses special technology for polishing and decorating extruded material.
Saenan won an Alfa de Plata for developing a bath that creates a wave effect through eccentric water movement, thereby helping the user to relax.
