Alfa de Oro awards 2010

Pamesa, Vidres, Colores Cerámicos and Macer are the winners of the 33rd Alfa de Oro awards, the prizes given by the Spanish ceramics and glass society SECV each year for the most innovative products presented at Cevisama. This year the presentation ceremony coincided with the celebrations for the 50 years of activity of the SECV, for which occasion it decided to grant a recognition to all the companies and institutions that during these five decades have contributed to the renown and prestige of these awards.

Pamesa received the award for a new ceramic product that can be used as a heat accumulator in heating systems. Vidres won its fifth Alfa de Oro for the first ceramic glazes capable of producing iridescent effects similar to those obtained in a third firing process. Known commercially as “Light On”, they can be applied using a normal production process. Colores Cerámicos received the award for developing eco-sustainable water-based colours for digital decoration. The last Alfa de Oro went to Macef for the innovative integral pressing process control system which enables the apparent density to be kept constant and ensures a single tile calibre.

The jury also presented three Alfa de Plata awards to Argenta for a new porcelain tile collection with an adventurine glass effect that restores the essence of traditional ceramic products, to Mosavit for a vitreous mosaic produced using a dry system and capable of withstanding the firing process, and to Natucer for the Life ARQ series which allows extruded ceramic to be used as a three-dimensional architectural element on facades and partitions.
