Essepienne, Traimec and La Favorita launch Project Second Life

A new industrial partnership focused on upgrading and reconditioning existing plants to improve efficiency, sustainability and production continuity.

Essepienne, Traimec and La Favorita, three companies operating in the Sassuolo ceramic district, have decided to pool their complementary expertise in engineering, components and combustion systems to offer the ceramic industry an integrated approach to kiln and dryer reconditioning.

In a market landscape where efficiency, sustainability and investment optimisation are increasingly crucial for competitiveness, regenerating existing plants offers an effective way to maximise the value of current industrial assets, improving their performance through targeted technological upgrades, mechanical overhauls and functional optimisation. This shared vision has given rise to Project Second Life, an initiative through which the three partner companies aim not only to extend the useful lifespan of existing installations, but to give them a genuine “second life”, transforming them into more reliable, efficient and higher performing systems.

Within the partnership, Traimec provides its experience in mechanical engineering, reverse engineering and handling systems for kilns and dryers; Essepienne contributes its extensive know-how in supplying spare parts and industrial components for the core machinery used in the ceramic sector; and La Favorita brings specialised expertise in energy optimisation solutions for thermal processes. Integrating these skills makes it possible to tackle plant reconditioning projects in a highly coordinated manner, simultaneously addressing mechanical, plant engineering and performance aspects. From the initial plant condition analysis through to reverse engineering of components, upgrading of drive mechanisms, overhaul of combustion systems and finally resumption and optimisation of production, customers can rely on a systematic approach and a single point of contact capable of managing the entire process.

Project Second Life will be officially presented at TECNA 2026, where the three companies will illustrate their vision: transforming plant modernisation from a simple maintenance task into a strategic lever for achieving efficiency, sustainability and production continuity.
