Apadana Ceram officially opens new plant

Apadana Ceram, the Iranian company founded in 2002 that aims to rapidly establish itself as one of the leading players in the world ceramic sector, officially opened a new facility on 7 May this year. The large plant will soon be up to capacity.

Of the envisaged 30 million sq.m capacity, only the lines devoted to the production of 10 million sq.m/year of through-bodied porcelain tiles remain to be started up. The company will employ a total of around 1,100 people and will hold a 10% share of the local market. Last year Apadana exported 35% of its production to generate around USD 8 million and aims to maintain this share in the future. The company’s technology partners include Sacmi, Tecnoferrari, Ancora, System, Cimes, Air Power, Simec, TSC, Kemac, Assoprint, Cuccolini, LB and Eurofilter.

The official opening was attended by key figures form the Iranian government, including the welfare minister Abdolreza Mesri and the parliamentary representative of Boeen Zahra (the city where Apadana Ceram is located) Ruhollah Abbaspour. Apadana’s Managing Director Mehran Golchini and the Chairman of the Board of Directors Hamid Reza Fattahi played host.
