Ariana acquires Ceramica Valverde

22/11/05 - The merger of the sales networks of Ariana Industrie Ceramiche, a subsidiary of the ABK Group of Castellarano (Reggio Emilia) and Ceramica Valverde (near Trento), a glazed porcelain floor tile manufacturer with a production capacity of more than 3 million sq.m/year and a turnover of 20 million euro, will be fully operative by the end of November.

The agreement covers the Valverde brand name, its entire sales organisation and the warehouse.
According to ABK’s chairman Roberto Fabbri, the synergies established between the two companies will enable them to complement their product ranges (including wall tiles, glazed porcelain floor tiles, through-bodied porcelain tile and small sizes in the medium-high segment) and to increase the turnover of the two brands Ariana/Valverde to an estimated 45 million euro in 2006 and 50 million euro in 2007.

The ABK Group, which as of next year will control 100% of Ariana/Valverde Industrie Ceramiche, expects to reach a turnover of 100 million euro in 2006, increasing output of its products at four factories.
