Ascer presents its initiatives at Cevisama
At this year’s Cevisama (stand 26, Lobby area level 2) the Spanish ceramic tile manufacturers’ association Ascer will once again be promoting a series of initiatives and events linked to the Spanish ceramic industry.
The customary press conference concentrating on projects and forecasts for 2010 will be held on 10 February. It will be followed by the Tile of Spain Award ceremony. Now in its 8th edition, the Tile of Spain Award is sponsored by Vodafone Spain, Gas Natural and various authorities and will focus on architecture and interior design. Out of the 127 submitted projects, the first prize in the architecture category will be presented to OAB (Office of Architecture in Barcelona), while the interior design section has been won by Tabuenca & Leach Architects.
The Ascer stand will host Expocàtedras, an initiative showcasing the best projects by students from the Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Valencia and Castellón branches of the Ceramic Tile Studies Departments network.
Trans/Hitos, a unconventional space organised by the ITC-Alicer Ceramic Technology Institute, will be held for the sixth year running with a view to promoting new uses of Spanish ceramic tiles in interiors and public spaces. Cevisama Indi, the Architecture and Design Forum aimed at interior designers, designers and architects, will be held next door to Trans/Hitos.
