Azuvi set for acquisitions
After the launch of a restructure operation involving the acquisition of stakes by the two investment funds Qualitas Equity Partners and Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie, the Spanish ceramic company Azuvi recently announced its new strategic plan. According to the new German general manager, Ottmar Aussermeier, who took office last November and has previous experience in the automotive industry, Azuvi is ready to expand through acquisitions or joint ventures that will bring annual turnover to around 100 million euro. Azuvi intends to expand in particular in the markets of Eastern Europe, Russia, India and China.
The company has also completed a major production rationalisation programme that has allowed it to maintain the same production levels (23,000 square metres/day) while halving the number of production lines (10) and streamlining the workforce.
