Bonfiglioli reports excellent 2007

Bonfiglioli, a world-leading manufacturer of motors, gear reducers and variable-speed drives for industry, closed 2007 with a turnover of 610 million euro, 22.3% up on the previous year. EBITDA amounted to 68.9 million euro (11.3% of turnover). The company also made substantial investments of 58 million euro, equivalent to 9.6% of turnover.

These excellent results are attributable to a major international expansion programme driven by consistent demand coupled with an effective marketing strategy. The new Bonfiglioli Deutschland branch in Germany was expanded, contributing 65 million euro to the group turnover (19% up on 2006), while production of specific types of gear reducer (principally epicyclic) was concentrated in an 18,000 sq.m facility in the Slovak Republic.

A new Bonfiglioli USA branch was also built in 2007 to support the staggering 70% growth in the market in that year and to allow for expansion programmes over the subsequent three year period. In Italy, a new company called Bonfiglioli Italia was set up in Carpiano (Milan) to serve the domestic market and assure improved customer support.
