Bongioanni signs the new FBM roof tile production line

The newly modernised line is designed to produce up to 7,600 roof tiles per hour, a 20% increase compared to the previous production department.

The new roof tile production line supplied by Bongioanni Macchine to Fornaci Briziarelli Marsciano (FBM) has been successfully commissioned. The plant stands out for its advanced technology and innovative engineering and is capable of meeting growing demand for quality, efficiency and sustainability.

At the heart of the upgraded line are two Bongioanni Crono 333 presses, which guarantee precision and efficient production. These are integrated with a new batt feeding system to optimise material handling and further improve the production process, as well as a system for loading greenware and unloading dried products.

The newly modernised line is designed to produce up to 7,600 roof tiles per hour, a 20% increase compared to the previous production department.

FBM’s new plant represents a major advance in roof tile manufacturing technology and illustrates how technological innovation can improve competitiveness and sustainability in building material production.

With the introduction of state-of-the-art solutions, the company has improved the efficiency and precision of its processes, while making a valuable contribution to environmental sustainability and energy savings. The plant’s ability to handle more complex workloads, combined with its groundbreaking design and ease of maintenance, makes it a strategic asset for meeting the challenges of today’s global market. With this state-of-the-art plant, FBM will be able to respond to increasing demand for customisation and product quality, while maintaining the highest safety standards.

For the moulds, FBM has chosen to work with Bongioanni Stampi, opting for stainless steel moulds instead of traditional plaster. This solution delivers high-quality pressed tiles with comparable performance to that of plaster moulds, but without the complications associated with preparing casting mixtures. Metal moulds also bring significant environmental benefits as they eliminate the need to dispose of exhausted gypsum waste, which would otherwise significantly increase production costs.

Thanks to ongoing research into advanced metallic materials, the Bongioanni Stampi moulds boast a service life of over one million pressed tiles before requiring maintenance.
