Bongioanni Stampi designs roof tile no. 3014
As part of its latest project for Spanish producer Cerámicas Mazarrón (Toledo), Bongioanni Stampi has developed roof tile number 3014-ST (a French type main tile). This takes the Fossano-based company past the milestone of 3,000 different versions of moulds created for base tiles, accessories and special pieces since it began its operations.
The first documented mould designed back in 1945 was a 2-ST mould for a French tile produced by Fornace Cuniberti, based in Vicoforte Mondovì (Cuneo). Since then, just as digital design has replaced paper drawings, wood models have been substituted by resin moulds designed using CAD/CAM technology.
The designs that Bongioanni Stampi now develops for leading roof tile manufacturers are developed using 3D systems capable of controlling the technical and aesthetic characteristics of products. The prototypes are converted directly into resin models for practical assessment prior to creating the finished product.
