B&T Group celebrates its 50th anniversary
SITI-B&T Group, a long-established Formigine, Italy-based company specialising in the production of machinery and complete lines for the ceramic and sanitaryware industries, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its foundation. With its constant focus on research and development, which it sees as the main driver of industrial growth, the Group now has 450 employees and 9 branches around the world, and is one of the most important companies in the local area.
The B&T Group’s history dates back to 1961 when a small company was founded by Emer Barbieri and the Group’s current chairman Fausto Tarozzi. The company started out by building metal structures and subsequently went on to produce machinery for tile handling and storage. The company’s long-term goal of achieving maximum technological efficiency has enabled it to steadily develop and consolidate its expertise over the years. For this purpose it has implemented a number of strategic operations. In 1999 the acquisition of the Nassetti brand names and companies marked a major step forward for the Group’s growth, allowing it to become a complete plant supplier capable of offering an all-round service from design through to implementation of all the production processes.
The B&T Group has grown rapidly in the last ten years as a result of major investments (Research & Development Centre), logistics and international production optimisation strategies (Industrial Centre) and the acquisition of new companies. In August 2006, the Group acquired the well-established company Siti, one of the leaders in the ceramic plant sector, and as of 1 April 2007 changed its name to Siti B&T Group S.p.A.
The Group’s range of technological offerings was further consolidated at the end of 2010 with the acquisition of Projecta Engineering, a company specialising in the design and construction of digital tile decoration machinery.
“This anniversary is a source of pride and satisfaction for us all,” declared chairman Fausto Tarozzi. “It demonstrates that the enthusiasm for our work that has always fuelled our entrepreneurial spirit still prompts us to look to the future with a long-term vision. Our company’s success is largely due to a series of major operations that have created new company branches and laid the foundations for further industrial growth.”
