Cerámica Rosario installs new tunnel kiln

The order from Cosmec strengthens the Italian company’s presence in Argentina.

Cosmec has been commissioned by Argentine brick producer Cerámica Rosario (Unicer Group) to build a high-throughput tunnel kiln (1,400 tonnes of bricks per day), thereby strengthening the Italian company’s presence in one of the most dynamic markets in Latin America.

The new sealcast kiln will be hermetically sealed, preventing any air ingress and ensuring a constant temperature during both pre-heating and firing.

Equipped with a new Industry 4.0 automatic control system, it will allow firing conditions to be monitored in real time in order to achieve the highest possible efficiency and to bring significant energy savings.

Energy consumption is also reduced due to the fact that the kiln always operates under pressure, which means that it uses all the available air and avoids the risk of expelling excess cooling air. Rapid construction and installation of the kiln walls and roof are another significant advantage of this firing solution.
