Cersaie attended by almost 100,000 visitors

The 40th Cersaie, which ended on 29 September in Bologna, registered a total of 99,319 visitors (8.8% more than in 2022), including more than 47,000 international attendees.

The 40th Cersaie, held in the Bologna Exhibition Centre from 25 to 29 September, showcased an astonishing array of high-quality and innovative products in visually captivating and emotionally engaging booths. The hard work and investment on the part of the exhibiting companies was amply rewarded by the success of the event, with results that surpassed all expectations.

Cersaie 2023 registered 99,319 visitors over the five days of the show, an increase of 8.8% compared to last year’s edition. This represents a steady increase from the 62,934 visitors who attended in 2021 and the 91,269 present last year and is not far short of the 2019 level of 112,340. The attendees included 47,634 international visitors (48% of the total) and 51,685 Italians. A total of 811 journalists were also present, including 396 non-Italians.

The Cersaie Business delegation, organised with the valuable collaboration of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation MAECI and the Italian Trade Agency ITA, saw the participation of more than 250 international professionals from Europe, North America and the Gulf region.

A total of 633 companies participated, occupying an exhibition space of 145,000 square metres in 15 fully packed out halls of the Bologna exhibition centre. These exhibitors included 354 companies from the ceramic tile sector, 96 from the bathroom furnishings sector and 183 from the installation, raw materials, new surfaces and services sectors.

The international nature of the show was demonstrated by the presence of 245 non-Italian exhibitors (39% of the total) from 27 countries.

“Despite challenging market conditions, Cersaie’s strong appeal has enabled exhibiting companies to maximise their investment and strengthen their links with Italian and international distributors, architects, installers and real estate professionals,” commented Giovanni Savorani, Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica. “Italian ceramic products continue to be renowned in international markets for their intrinsic characteristics such as health, hygiene, durability and sustainability,” he said.

Cersaie 2023’s wide-ranging programme of events was also very well received, with more than 2,000 people attending the meetings in the “building, dwelling, thinking” programme.

Next year’s Cersaie will be held in Bologna from 23 to 27 September 2024.
