Cevisama 2013 hosts TRANS/Hitos Geometries

The ninth TRANS/Hitos, an exhibition devoted to unconventional urban and architectural uses of ceramics, will be held as usual as part of Cevisama in Valencia, Spain from 5 to 8 February 2013. Organised with the collaboration of ASCER and coordinated by the Design and Architecture division of ITC (Ceramic Technology Institute), TRANS/Hitos will this year feature the slogan "Geometries" and will be held in the exhibition centre's main hall. Three projects will be showcased, including two previous award winners and a section of an innovative domotic kindergarten.


The exhibition will also host the presentation of the Ceramic Awards organised by ASCER and divided into three categories. The first prize for the architecture category was awarded to Maria Gonzalez García and Juanjo López de la Cruz for their project entitled "Hostelry School in Abattoir (Medina Sidonia, Cadice)". An honourable mention for this category went to "Refurbishment of the Plaza Mayor square and Cantilever Balcony over the Douro" by Churtichaga + Quadra-Salcedo Architects. The winner of the Interior Design category was the project "University School of Education" by Ramon Fernandez-Alonso Borrajo, while first place in the Final Project went to "Tissue Found - l'unité flottante, Alexander inhabiting" by Maria Dolores Parrilla Ayuso School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM). Each category winner will receive a 14,000 euro cash prize.
