Change in top management at Wienerberger Italia: Robert Lang takes over as CEO
Robert Lang leaves his position as CFO of the Italian branch to take on the role of CEO. He replaces Gülnaz Atila
Robert Lang, former Chief Financial Officer of Wienerberger Italia, has taken over the role of CEO as of September from Gülnaz Atila, who is leaving the Italian top management for an international appointment in the Wienerberger Building Solutions Business Unit at its headquarters in Vienna.
Lang’s many years of experience within the Wienerberger Group began in the Corporate Controlling department at the Vienna headquarters, followed by various assignments at the group’s subsidiaries in Belgium, Croatia and China. In 2015 he joined the Italian team and gradually advanced to his current position.
Building solid and lasting partnerships with customers remains one of the new CEO’s top priorities, and he will step up his efforts to achieve this and ensure high levels of service quality. Product innovation in the brick and tile sector is another area where the group will be concentrating its resources, with a particular focus on complete eco-sustainable solutions . To achieve this, the group will continue to invest in the digital transformation of its production processes as a cornerstone of solid future growth.
Wienerberger Italia has four plants located in Feltre, Gattinara, Bubano and Terni for the production of load-bearing and infill blocks designed for energy saving, seismic safety, sound insulation and the construction of near-zero energy buildings (NZEBs).
With 201 plants in 30 countries, the Wienerberger Group is the world’s largest brick and tile producer (Porotherm, Terca) and the European leader in the production of clay roof tiles (Koramic, Tondach). In 2019 it posted global revenues of 3.5 billion euros and an EBITDA LFL of 587 million euros.
