Colorveggia doubles its plant at Casalgrande
Reggio Emilia, 30 October 2002 - By the end of 2004, Colorveggia Reire of Casalgrande (province of Reggio Emilia, Italy) will double the size of its production site from the current covered area of 6,500 sq.m to 11,000 sq.m. This full-cycle glaze and colour producer company expects to double its turnover during the next five years and to upgrade the production of innovative Coldry series glazes through the use of advanced technologies.
After beginning the building work in May 2002, the first part of the project - a 2,500 sq.m area - is due to be completed by December. Over the next two years the factory will be expanded by a further 2,000 square metres (see photomontage of the finished factory). The first department, which will be operative as of the first few months of next year, will be installed with 2 spray dryers with a production capacity of 4 tons/hour along with a series of 38,000 litre mills. The same building will also house a series of 36 silos for automatic preparation of compounds plus a production line devoted to glazes for in-press glazing. Following this first expansion stage, Colorveggia Reire will be able to produce Coldry powder glazes at a rate of 2,400-2,500 tons per month in normal operation.
The automatic composition plant will produce about 10,000 tons of finished product a month in normal operation. The second building will hold the frit kilns and will be used for a completely new line of products.

The Coldry rangeThe Coldry range

Colorveggia Reire's new factory will be capable of producing the innovative Coldry product, which the company has been promoting with ceramic manufacturers for more than a year. Coldry is a range of powdered glazes that combines certified quality with the convenience of a glaze that is available in under 40 minutes.
The series offers a range of surfaces and product types, all of which are fully tested and certified. Engobes, satin finishes, rustic, glossy majolica and transparent glazes are just a few of the products in the Coldry family. Significantly, these products are no more expensive than glazes normally used in compounds. In 2002 the company launched another two products to complement the new range: Colser for use in screen printing and mottling and Colpres for double loading and dry applications.
