Confindustria Ceramica formed

12/12/06 - The creation of a new organisation called Confindustria Ceramica was unanimously approved by Assopiastrelle member companies at the members’ meeting hold last 12th of December.

As of 1 January 2007 the trade association’s scope of representation will expand to include manufacturers of sanitaryware, porcelain and household ceramic, ornamentalware, industrial ceramic and ceramic stoneware.

There will be 41 new member companies, of which 14 come from Federceramica (the abrasives producers will remain with Federchimica) and 27 operate in the Civita Castellana cluster.
Confindustria Ceramica will consequently represent 291 companies with a total turnover of 6.5 billion euro and 34,000 employees.

The creation of the new association came about through close cooperation with Federchimica.
Assopiastrelle will also sign an agreement with the Industrial Association of the Province of Viterbo to assure the integration of the ceramic companies in the Civita Castellana cluster into the association.
