Cosmec takes virtual trips to Poland, the United States and Algeria
Using technology capable of reaching even the most distant areas, it succeeded in remotely starting up a plant in Poland and made significant progress on a further two sites, one in Algeria and the other in the United States
Throughout the recent Covid-19 pandemic, the Verona-based company Cosmec continued to provide support and assistance to its customers. Using technology capable of reaching even the most distant areas, it succeeded in remotely starting up a plant in Poland and made significant progress on a further two sites, one in Algeria and the other in the United States.
The strict travel restrictions did not stop the Italian company from completing the installation and start-up of the new automatic line for cutting, loading, setting and unloading fired products at the factory of Polish brick producer ZCB. After being brought to an abrupt halt in April, site acceptance testing of the supplied equipment and the new supervision management system for the kiln and dryer was completed in recent weeks by Cosmec technicians who were finally able to travel to the facility. The plant is now fully operational and meets the contractual production capacity without any delays with respect to the schedule agreed prior to the Covid outbreak. The work was completed to the customer’s full satisfaction thanks to the close cooperation between the two companies’ technical teams.
Cosmec achieved the same outstanding results in July when it succeeded in installing a double kiln car loading system and a new cutting line at the facility of a major US group without interrupting normal production, an important factor in a country where the real estate sector has continued to operate.
Also in July, Cosmec continued with the installation of the plant at the Khadidja Briqueterie factory in Algeria, collaborating during the lockdown with a local team that specialises in the installation of equipment for kilns and dryers. The operation, carried out under the constant supervision of the Italian company, was concluded successfully. The automated equipment consisting of a 6-axis Fanuc robot was instead set up by the supplier.
