At Coverings the 25th North America Distributor Award is presented to Avalon Flooring
The presentation ceremony for the 25th North America Distributor Award 2015, the award assigned each year to an importer that has excelled in its dealings with the Italian ceramic industry, was held on April 15th in the Rosen Center Hotel in Orlando during the Italian Evening.
Created to recognize excellence that goes well beyond standard business practice, the award is presented to distributors who demonstrate an ability to establish genuine partnerships with Italian ceramic tile manufacturers.
The North America Distributor Award 2015 was presented to Scott Tolnai, vice president of Avalon Flooring of Cherry Hill (NJ), a family business founded in 1963. After opening its first store in a town in New Jersey, it now has a total of 14 stores spread across New Jersey and Pennsylvania which handle around 5 million square metres of tiles annually supplied by 18 leading Italian ceramic tile companies. The company devotes special attention to sustainable development, an important issue for the Italian ceramic industry.
"The fact that the winner is chosen from several hundred distributors located throughout North America makes this a highly coveted prize," said Emilio Mussini, Chairman of Confindustria Ceramica's Promotional Activities and Trade Fairs Committee.
During the award ceremony the association's Chairman Vittorio Borelli recalled the award's 25 year history. "The presentation of this Distributor Award is a source of great satisfaction for all of us," said Borelli. "Over this quarter of a century we have recognised companies of all sizes from all over the United States, demonstrating that the Italian ceramic industry has always stood by this market, both in good times - like the present - and in times of difficulty."
