Daniele Pecchini to lead the System Group
After graduating in general physics at the University of Florence, where he also carried out research and teaching activities, Mr Pecchini moved into the field of company management and held positions of increasing responsibility within the Fiat Group.
After working for several years for Teksid and Fiat Allis, he acquired solid experience in the field of electronics as managing director of Marelli Autronica. He then led the transformation of Weber from a world leader in carburettors to a major player in the field of electronic engine and gearbox control systems.
After being appointed managing director of Comau at the beginning of 2003, he carried through a process of large-scale reorganisation with a view to increasing the competitiveness of the industrial automation giant.
For many years he was on the Advisory Board of the Computer Science faculty of the University of Berkeley and on the board of directors of the Centro Ricerche Fiat and of the Group Executive Committee Fiat.
