Datalogic has taken a further step forward in its project to promote industrial automation and facilitate the transition to Industry 4.0.
The company, a world leader in the field of automatic data acquisition, has announced the launch of Datasensing, a new brand that will combine Datalogic’s Sensor & Safety and Machine Vision Business Units with M.D. Micro Detectors, the Modena-based industrial sensor producer acquired in March this year for €37 million.
Datasensing will offer international markets a complete, innovative range of sensors based on a variety of technologies, optoelectronic devices for machine and plant safety, automatic vehicle guidance and machine vision for Smart Manufacturing.
CEO Cosimo Capuzzello commented: “Datasensing is starting out on a solid footing and I am confident that it will achieve significant results as early as 2021, including an expected turnover of €76 million. The agreement with Datalogic will enable us to create an industrial player with a combined experience of a hundred years by bringing together two companies that have been shaping the history of sensor technology in Italy since the early 1970s.”
