Del Conca steps into the age of porcelain panels 4.0
Just four months after the start-up of the second line at the facility in Loudon, Tennessee in December last year, Del Conca Group celebrated the completion of work at the Pastorelli factory in Savignano sul Panaro (Modena) in April.
With this 35 million euro investment, the Group has also begun production of porcelain panels using Continua+ technology from Sacmi and "stepped into the new phase of industry 4.0", explained Paolo Mularoni, at the helm of the group together with his brothers Davide and Marco.
For Del Conca the start-up of the Savignano facility is the latest, challenging step in a development programme that has seen it invest a total of 120 million euros in the space of less than five years (following the 50 million euros invested for construction of the Loudon factory in 2014, a further 30 million euros was recently added to double capacity to 6 million m2/year). This is without question a plan of historic importance given the size of the group, which in 2016 reported consolidated revenues of 160 million euros.
We discussed the latest operations and new goals with Paolo and Davide Mularoni. Read the complete interview published in Ceramic World Review no. 121
