Durst officially enters the Chinese ceramic market
Durst is continuing its expansion in the major ceramics markets. After establishing sales and service branches in South America, India and the Asia-Pacific region, Durst has now successfully entered the Chinese ceramics market. With an estimated annual production of 10 billion sq.m, China is the world's largest tile producer. Production has almost doubled in the past 5 years and at the same time there has been a strong shift towards digital production methods. With this in mind, Durst recently set up a new sales company in cooperation with C. Illies Trading Co. Ltd., a well-established trade partner in China with sales and service branches in the major tile producing regions of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Qingdao and Peking.
To officialise the partnership, the two companies took part together in the latest Ceramics China in Guangzhou, where they presented the Durst Gamma inkjet printer portfolio to the Chinese market.
"Inkjet technology is gradually being adopted in all global markets," commented Christoph Gamper, CEO of Durst Phototechnik AG. "The growing demand for quality and flexibility, characteristics for which Durst solutions are renowned, is driving us to invest in China. We constantly receive great feedback on the print quality and industrial production capacity of our machines. The Gamma 120 HD-RS, for example, enables us to provide the perfect solution for tiles sized 80 x 80 cm. With Illies we have a highly professional and motivated partner at our side to successfully establish Durst inkjet technology in China."
