Ecoterm acquires company arm from Endeka Ceramics

As of January 2008, Endeka Ceramics has sold the activities of the factory in San Felice sul Panaro (Modena) to Ecoterm, a company belonging to the Edilteco group which has been operating in the sector of thermal and acoustic insulation for building since 1981. The factory will continue to be used for the production of copper oxide and chromite for the ceramic and glass industries.

The new owners intend to double production of these raw materials by increasing the factory's output from the current 3,000 tons to 6,000 tons in the near future.

Ecoterm will become one of only two Italian producers of chromite (and one of the very few in Europe). Ecoterm will be even better placed in the European glass sector as it is the only company with its own technology.

The quality of Ecoterm products will be further assured by the several decades of experience of the Edilteco Group's internal laboratory. This centre will be further equipped to guarantee the necessary quality controls for semi-finished products created specially for the ceramic sector. (JF)
