EnergieKer joins forces with SACMI to focus on the large slab market
The new complete plant supplied by Sacmi became operational at the end of the summer, equipped with the Continua+ technology and a full complement of downstream decoration, handling and firing solutions.
With the goal to reposition the EnergieKer brand in the large decorated ceramic panel and slab market, the Pavullo-based ceramic manufacturer has partnered with Sacmi Group, which supplied a complete plant for the manufacture of slabs as large as 1200x2400 and 1600x3200. The new plant is the last stage of an ambitious plan to invest in the best available large panel technology launched back in 2013.
The new plant was installed and started up last summer, just in time to present the new EnergieKer product range at the international Cersaie fair in September. At its technological heart lies a Continua+ line for the production of ceramic panels of different size and thickness. Downstream from the compactor, there is the digital decoration and glazing system, where the DHD 1808 digital printer by Sacmi-Intesa plays a pivotal role: equipped with 8 colour bars, it belongs to that latest generation of Sacmi solutions that has opened the way towards deep digital decoration (i.e. complete digitalization of the glazing line and unmatched on-tile tactile and depth effects).
To fire the panels, EnergieKer has chosen a latest-generation EKO kiln equipped with every possible feature to maximise quality and minimise consumption. The handling and sorting systems complete the supply.
