Expo Revestir 2015 gets under way
From 3 to 6 March 2015, the Transamerica Expo Center in São Paulo (Brazil) will be hosting Expo Revestir 2015, the latest edition of South America's leading trade fair for the architecture and interior design sectors. One of the leading international events in the sector, in 2014 Expo Revestir was attended by more than 50,000 visitors, mostly Brazilian, and saw the participation of 233 exhibitors, including 92 from abroad (Spain, Italy, Germany, USA, Israel, etc.).
Ceramics of Italy
This year Italy will be represented by a delegation of 14 ceramic floor and wall tile manufacturers. These include a group of eight of the oldest and most representative Italian ceramic companies under the auspices of the Ceramics of Italy mark: Casalgrande Padana, Ceramiche Caesar, Ceramiche Cisa, Ornamenta, Edimax Gruppo Beta, Marazzi, Marca Corona 1741 and Mirage Granito Ceramico. The group is part of the Pavilhão Oficial Italiano de Revestimento organised by the Italian Trade Agency ITA in cooperation with Confindustria Ceramica, the Italian ceramic manufacturers' association. A number of other major players in the sector are taking part in the show with their own stands: Cooperativa Ceramica d'Imola, Gardenia Orchidea, Ceramica Sant'Agostino, Italgraniti, Laminam and Mapei.
Visitors to the Italian Pavilion can used a dedicated software program to verify the feasibility of installing the displayed products in their own projects. These products combine high technological qualities with unique aesthetics and are ideal for both interiors or exteriors subject to any volume of traffic in residential or industrial settings.
The Brazilian market is highly receptive to high-end products for use in the construction sector, including both public and residential building. It is therefore a market with high growth potential for the Italian ceramic tile industry, although current exports are limited to just over 400,000 square metres a year. The high tariff barriers present a major obstacle to a more rapid expansion of Italian products in the country.
Tile of Spain
The Spanish delegation will also be taking part in the show under the supervision of ASCER and represented by the Tile of Spain mark. Brazil is a key market for Spanish tiles, which in 2014 experienced 12.8% year-on-year growth in exports to the country to reach 6.67 million euros. Six Spanish tile manufacturers will be taking part in the event and will occupy an area of 100 sq.m in the Spanish pavilion: Gres de Aragón, Cristacer, STN, Alttoglass, Ibero and the Zirconium-Niro Group. The Spanish tile industry's high-end products are particularly in demand in the Brazilian market.
Ceramic machinery
Expo Revestir will also be an excellent showcase for presenting the latest technological innovations to the South American market thanks to a group of 12 companies coordinated by ACIMAC (Italian Ceramic Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers' Association) and consisting of: Ancora, BMR, Cielle, Gabbrielli Technology S.r.l., ICF - Welko, LB Officine Meccaniche, Perissinotto, Poppi, Sacmi - Intesa, System, Surfaces and Tecnoferrari.
