Fer-menti on display at the Ferro stand

04/02/05 - Following on from the original exhibition held at Tecnargilla 2004, Simona Ceccarelli – the young Italian designer from Rome who will be displaying her work at various venues including the Salone Satellite 2005 at the Milan Furniture Show – will also be taking part in Cevisama in Valencia.
Ferro, with whom the artist collaborates, will be hosting an exhibition of her ceramic jewels at its stand (F 132 – hall 6A).
Ceccarelli has created various microsculptures using colours and precious metals produced by Ferro.

Two examples are ‘Kanzashi’, a Japanese broach made of white clay with crackle crystalline, pink stain, glossy gold and palladium, and ‘Vesuvio’, two interlocking pieces made of white clay and pink crackle crystalline. .

The factor that unites the artist and the company is an attention to colour, not limited to vision but embracing other senses including touch. The colours used in Simona Ceccarelli’s sculptures are never perfect but have a timeworn appearance, thus becoming an integral part of the object.
