Florim's growth driven by investments
Florim Ceramiche has closed 2016 with further growth: revenues of 406.8 million euros (up 8.7% on 2015), EBITDA up to 107.1 million euros (26.3% of turnover) and net profits of 49.3 million euros (+13.9%).
According to the Fiorano Modenese-based group’s management, these results have been driven by the 210 million euros of investments made over the last five years, which have focused on latest-generation technologies for the factories in Italy and the United States, research into materials with high technical and aesthetic qualities, human resources and corporate image, aimed in particular at promoting the quality of Florim’s products.
The technical investments made in 2016 amount to 53.5 million euros. The most significant include: continuation of the work on the factory in Mordano (Bologna) to renovate the raw materials preparation department and to double the production capacity of traditional porcelain tiles; completion of the renovation work on the raw materials preparation department and construction of a new technical building at Florim USA (Clarksville, Tennessee); and investments in modernising the production lines in Fiorano.
During the year the group also launched two new brands onto the market: FLORIM stone (aimed at furnishing professionals) and CEDIT - Ceramiche d’Italia, for which a brand store has been opened in Milan.
