Forterra’s project in Accrington is underway

Countdown to the commissioning of the brick slips plant supplied by Capaccioli and currently being installed in the Accrington plant (UK).

The construction of the plant commissioned in Capaccioli by Forterra, a leading player in the UK, is moving ahead at full speed. Capaccioli team is dedicated to bring-ing this impressive, extruded strip production plant into operation, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction. The first machines to begin operating for heavy clay preparation are those under the ARAL brand, completely designed, built and tested in the Capaccioli’s headquarter. This is the first step in the startup of the plant; the next step will involve running the drying process. The technological solutions chosen by Capaccioli will enable Forterra to produce over 40 million brick slips annually.

Founded in 1960, the English group has 15 manufacturing sites where 1600 employees create the bricks, blocks, precast concrete, paving and many other vital products and services that enable the development of thriving communities and infrastructure.

Brick slips are currently a £100m, fast growing market in UK.
