The appointment was announced on 3 December 2024 in Brussels during the European Ceramic Days 2024, an annual event where hundreds of industry professionals, technicians, commissioners and Members of the European Parliament Ceramic Forum (EPCF) come together to discuss upcoming objectives and the role of the ceramic industry in the international context.

“It is with great honour and a strong sense of responsibility that I take on the role of Chairman of the European Ceramics Federation,” Verdi said to CET members following the vote. “I would like to thank you all for the trust you have placed in me and for your unwavering commitment to advancing our industry. Together, we will continue to sustain innovation, foster the growth of Europe’s ceramic sector and pursue sustainability in a pragmatic and achievable way. I am confident that by working together with determination and passion we can achieve even more ambitious goals and further strengthen our role.”
