Growth in international visitors at Cevisama 2020
According to the organisers, attendance at Cevisama exceeded 92,000 visitors, including more than 21,000 from abroad (+5.9%).
The organisers of Cevisama 2020, held in Valencia from 3 to 7 February, gave a very upbeat assessment of this year’s show.
The largest Spanish trade fair devoted to ceramic tile and bathroom furnishings strengthened its international profile and confirmed its status as one of the largest trade exhibitions in the country and the most important annual event in the Comunitat Valenciana.
According to the figures released, there were a total of 92,435 visitors (+1.4% on 2019), including 21,364 international attendees (+5.9%). More than a third of these came from the Spanish tile industry’s key markets in Europe – Italy, France, Portugal, UK and Germany – and the United States. The top countries in terms of visitor numbers were Russia, Morocco, India, Algeria, Poland, Belgium, Israel, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Turkey, Ireland, Egypt, Bulgaria, Iran and Tunisia.
The number of exhibitors (847 companies, including 295 from abroad, spread over 10 halls) was boosted this year by the presence of machinery and equipment manufacturers, a sector that takes part in Cevisama only every other year and consisted of over 70 exhibitors occupying the entire Hall 7.
As for the visitors’ profile, alongside retailers, distributors and manufacturers, the segment of architects and interior designers continues to grow each year, noted Cevisama Chairman Manuel Rubert. The exhibition hosts specific initiatives aimed at these target groups, including the Design Hall (Hall 6) and above all the conferences organised as part of the Architecture Forum, which has now become the most important event of its kind in Spain.
The next Cevisama will take place from 8 to 12 February 2021.
