Gruppo Faetano relaunches Pastorelli

Gruppo Faetano relaunches Pastorelli14/2/2003 - One of the very few acquisitions in the ceramic sector in 2002 was that of Pastorelli by Faetano, a group best known for its member company Del Conca, in mid December. The operation led to the creation of a group with a turnover of around 115 million euro which ranks amongst the top ten companies in the Italian ceramic sector. Ceramica Faetano, the holding company that controls the capital of Ceramica del Conca along with other ancillary commercial and financial companies, set up the company Pastorelli srl, and leased the installations, brand name and operations of Pastorelli Ceramiche for a period of three years," explained Enzo Mularoni, managing director of Ceramica Del Conca Spa and now sole administrator of Pastorelli srl, in an interview to be published in the next issue of Tile Italia.
Pastorelli is a well-known name in the ceramic sector with a particularly strong presence in foreign markets, where it generates more than 80% of its turnover (particularly Germany, France and the United States). "In 2003 we expect to use a production capacity of about 4 million square metres (glazed and unglazed porcelain tile) and generate a turnover in the region of 35-40 million euro," Mularoni said. Although there will be no commercial integration, some synergies may be established at a production level in order to achieve efficient plant utilisation.
