Imerys reports increase in consolidated turnover

15/02/06 - The multinational Imerys Group has closed fiscal 2005 with 6.1% growth in consolidated turnover to more than 3 billion euro.
Results remained strong in the last quarter of the year (+13.3%), largely due to the latest acquisitions and the favourable exchange rate.
At constant exchange rates the results are likewise positive (up 3% on 2004) due to an effective price policy and stable sales volumes.

The Specialty Minerals division, comprising raw materials for the ceramic industry, reported 2.5% growth in 2005 with a turnover of 814.9 million euro.
The results at constant exchange rates instead show a slight fall (-0.5%). The fall in orders was almost entirely offset by the increase in prices. The acquisitions made during the year – Gran Bianco Carrara and Blancs Minéraux de Tunisie in May, DAM in late October – also contributed to the positive results. DAM closed 2005 with a turnover of 81.4 million euro and added two important minerals to the Group’s range (feldspars and mica).
