Indian Ceramics 2012
With around 170 exhibitors hosted in a fully booked exhibition space, Indian Ceramics 2012 is promising to be an outstanding show. The seventh edition of the exhibition, to be held from 20 to 22 March in the University Exhibition Centre in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujarat, remains a unique international event for the Indian ceramic industry. The high concentration of companies in Gujarat, which is home to around 75% of the entire Indian ceramic industry, makes it the most dynamic and attractive region for international players looking to boost their business in the Indian subcontinent and the rest of the Asian market.
India boasts an attractive and rapidly expanding ceramic industry. Although exports still account for a limited percentage of total production, they are growing steadily and shipped to areas such as the Middle East, Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. In 2010 sanitaryware export turnover alone totalled US $371.4 million, while a 10-20% increase is expected in the 2011 tax year, due to end in March, and the prospects are also good for 2012.
Indian Ceramics attracts visitors from Europe, North America and the Far East and in 2011 reported a total attendance of more than 4,000. Italian technology will be represented by more than 20 companies, including Air Power, Assoprint, Bernini Impianti, BMR, Bongioanni Macchine, Colorobbia, Expert, Gabbrielli Technology, Gruppo Tecnoferrari, Lamberti, Mectiles Italia, System Solutions, Sacmi, Setec, Sibelco, Siti-B&T, Smaltochimica, System, TCK, Tecnofiliere, Tecnografica and Tecnopress.
Some of the best known international companies taking part include Torrecid, Vidres, Cretaprint, Megacolor, Hito, Jettable, Heraeus Kulzer, Kaolin and Xaar.
