Inter Ser expands in North America
Despite the contraction of the Brazilian and Argentine markets, Inter Ser closed 2016 with revenue growth and continued its strong performance through the first half of 2017. The company - which is headquartered in Vercelli and with a logistics centre in Sassuolo and specialises in the supply of original parts and machines for the ceramic industry - believes its strong performance is due to the international market expansion policy that has resulted in it supplying equipment to some 150 companies in 62 countries.
Its business is particularly strong in North America. In the United States for example, the opening of the branch Inter Ser USA near Dallas, Texas in January has enabled it to increase sales by almost 10% in the first six months of the year. The presence of a logistic warehouse supplied weekly from Italy with high-turnover spare parts has reduced delivery times and increased the number of products available. This has enabled it to meet growing demand from its longstanding clientele and to acquire new customers, and it now aims to forge business relations with companies located in the new Tennessee ceramic manufacturing cluster.
Inter Ser has seen even higher growth in Mexico, where it has been operating for more than ten years with a central warehouse in Chihuahua and two smaller warehouses in the centre and south of the country. Sales have risen by 20% a year in the past two years due to two factors: higher demand from the Mexican ceramic industry, which is expanding and opening new facilities; and extension of the sales network to cover the entire country. Its ongoing efforts to improve its service and the type of products it offers have enabled Inter Ser to become a key partner for the leading players in the sector.
