Koramik acquires Sphinx (Trega)

14/09/07- Last August, Koramic Investment Group (Courtrai, Belgium) acquired Trega (Maastricht, Holland), 100% owner of floor and wall tile manufacturer Sphinx Carrelages (factory and 178 workers in Maastricht).

Koramik has long been present in the tile sector through the wholly-owned Cofrac Group (Boussois, France), which produces ceramic through its subsidiary Desvres (three factories and total workforce of 340 people).
Cofrac also operates in the tile adhesives sector through its subsidiary Cermix, which has 3 production sites in France as well as facilities in Switzerland and Turkey.
Cofrac is present in Italy through Cofrac Italia of Rubiera, which is responsible for distributing floor and wall tiles in Southern and Eastern Europe.

The Koramik Group has announced that Cofrac and Trega will continue to operate independently under their own managements while obviously seeking to exploit potential synergies.

Both companies will therefore continue to offer their own complete ranges under the Desvres and Sphinx Carrelages brand names.
