Laeis opens new plant

16703/06 - The new site in Wecker, Luxemburg owned by the German company Laeis is due to be opened tomorrow, 17 March.
The 1,600 square metre site will house the assembly, logistics and storage facilities.

Laeis, which belongs to the multinational Sacmi Group, specialises in the production of hydraulic presses with a pressing force of 500-3600 tons and kilns operating at temperatures of up to 1850°C and engineers plants and automation principally for the refractories industry. T
he Laeis kiln division, which mainly serves the ceramic and refractory industry, was incorporated into the Nuremberg-based company Riedhammer (Sacmi Group) in Autumn 2004 in order to concentrate know-how, expertise and high-temperature kiln production in a single facility.

Laeis employs a workforce of 65 people and generates approximately 25 million euro of business per year.
