LB reaches 150 Easy-Color lines

20/06/05 - With the latest startup testing carried out at the end of June at the factory in Roteglia (province of Reggio Emilia, Italy) owned by the Ceramiche Riwal Group (brands Alfa, Saime, Lux and San Prospero), LB Officine Meccaniche of Fiorano (province of Modena) has reached the target of 150 Easy-Color dry powder colouring lines installed worldwide, confirming the company’s leadership position in the field of ceramic powder management.

The dry colouring process, developed and patented by LB, was a major innovation in porcelain tile production.
The possibility of colouring the dry bodies by adding oxides during the stage of transfer to the presses allows for a considerable reduction in costs in terms of both plant engineering and consumption of colouring oxides.

Initially developed as a technology for the production of glazed porcelain tile, dry colouring is now also used for the production of natural and polished unglazed tiles.
