LB supplies technology to EKS (Turkey)

30/06/03 -In the twelve years since it was set up in 1991, Eczacibasi Karo Seramik (EKS) has become one of Turkey's leading tile manufacturers, offering a wide range of sizes from the smallest (5x5 cm) to the largest (60x60 cm). It now has an annual production of 15.5 million square metres.
Following major investments in technologies and innovative engineering solutions, EKS has established a strong position in the market. When it needed to set up a new line for the production of porcelain tile of high aesthetic quality, it chose LB Officine Meccaniche as its main supplier, placing an order for an innovative press feeding system (Nuovo Rollfeed and Tecnoslate). This improves on the performance delivered by the old feeding systems due to a more flexible powder loading mechanism capable of guaranteeing fast and precise management.
The Nuovo Roll Feed is equipped with a system for recovering and reusing the powder removed by the Tecnoslate air blade and creates micro vein, macro vein, varied tone and speckled effects throughout the body. This produces outstanding aesthetic qualities and an extremely natural appearance during the forming stage, with the vein effect created throughout the body of the tile. The use of Tecnoslate also allows the aesthetic effects to be highlighted without the need to resort to a polishing process.
