Majorca expands in Bangladesh

 

As part of a major international consolidation programme, Majorca has launched a joint venture with the Bangladeshi firm Index Companies. Finalised last July, the agreement involved the creation of X Monica, a new ceramic company based in Bangladesh whose core business will focus on designer and Italian style ceramic products in Southeast Asia.

X Monica marks a further step forward in the commercial expansion process launched by Majorca in 2007 as part of an internationalisation strategy aiming to strengthen its presence in emerging foreign markets. In south Asia the Italian firm aims to launch a plan to cover the markets of Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and the Maldives.

Majorca has recently also completed acquisitions of the Monica, Eurotiles, Lord and Tiffany brands.
