Manfredini & Schianchi transforms waste into high quality raw materials

Manfredini & Schianchi recently supplied Kerama Marazzi with a new fired waste grinding line which has been installed at the facility in Orel.

Thanks to this solution, all glazed and unglazed fired waste is entirely recycled as a high quality raw material, bringing significant savings in terms of disposal costs.

The plant’s core technology consists of the Slammer hammer mill, which was specially designed to handle highly abrasive materials (fired ceramic waste, sanitaryware, feldspar, quartz, etc.).

The machine can accept incoming pieces up to 450 mm in size and has an average production capacity of 12 t/h with an outgoing particle size < 2 mm. Electricity consumption is below 12 kW/t and spare parts are subjected to limited wear, allowing for more than 400 hours of operation.
